SOLID START TO SPRING LEAGUE SEASON
11th May 2008
Following two brilliant games from the Ste-Anne's
women, the Ste-Anne's Men's "mixed" fifteen (actually both teams played 13s as
Parc O was short), took on the oldest Francophone Club in Quebec: Parc
Olympique.

It was a spirited, and at times fiercely contested
match. From the beginning, Ste-Anne's sought to send the ball wide and on this
day the backs were up to the challenge. Manny and Alan combined on one play,
while Mike Thompson set up Chris Murray who was hanging out on the wing even
though he propped the entire game.

Scotty Armstrong made an appearance and at from this
point on, play really opened up with many fine classic style attacks right to
the wing with even Old School getting the ball.

In the forwards, Roger, Jean-Marie and Roger provided
much needed support and post tackling. Aaron Graham had his usual fine game
and Macintosh and Stone clicked in the lineout to win almost all of our own
ball.

Amongst the spectators was Meirion Philips, Jim
Bergeron and other notables.
Following the match, Stone's birthday was marked with
the presentation of a cake and cup cakes, and of course Martin chugged a
couple of quick beers.
