RUGBY AROUND CAMPUS: Mac
College Resurgence, McGill Preview, JAC German 30th
September 2008
The Macdonald College Rugby team is seeing a strong resurgence this year
with over
20 members. They have had close games against John Abbott and a good win
over Ste-Anne's third XV in the Fall series. These matches have kicked
off what looks like an exciting season.

The JAC Rugby Islanders are also under way and 2008 looks as though it
will be a tough year to repeat as CEGEP champs. Other College teams in the
League are looking strong. However, there there is some help in the form
of a giant Hoffman look alike from Germany. Other strong players include
Ste-Anne's Grillo, Belvedere, Hayden, Luc and the ever improving Jughead.

The McGill Martlets Women's team look like they could make it to the
finals despite a disappointing pair of losses to Universite de Laval.
Yerbury and Mongeau head a team coached by Vince DeGrandpre, Jessie
Matiaszuk and John Lavery.

Of course, we must also mention that Concordia
University Stingers are in contention too, particularly with all star
forward Vanessa Grillo back in action.
