2005 INDUCTEES
STUART CREAGH
Inducted
December 3rd 2005
Stuart Creagh enjoyed a long and illustrious career
with Ste-Annes. First he enjoyed success as a player,
where he went from rookie prop to a National Team
player. He was a
winner, and defined more than a decade of play with
this Club. And, it was not just any decade, but one
with a streak and a record that will likely never be
broken. Some of his greatest matches were down at
Saranac Lake where he
made the big bowl for the finals many times. This
feat is not to be minimized as some of the best
players in the world congregate at this
tournament. To win it so many times and be such a big
part of these winning teams is a remarkable
achievement.
But as great as were his performances on the field,
perhaps his contributions as a Club Coach were even
greater. He developed a string of women players that
formed the core of a dynasty. Then, as Men's coach
he instilled a pride and ferocity in all Ste-Anne's
teams that can still be felt to this day. Too many
"greats" in one paragraph? Never. Not if you are
describing Stuart Creagh, a true Hall of Famer.
