OLD BOYS RUGBY: An Entertaining Game as part of
Fall series 21st Oct0ber 2009
If you add up the number of all the Rugby teams based in
Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, you can come up with around 17. This impressive number
is counted to include the High School (4), Mac, McGill, JAC (2), SABRFC
senior ( 4 ), junior ( 2 ) and mini Rugby teams (3). Well we should
be adding one more to that total, or or maybe even two more, as the Old Boys
took the field against Macdonald College last Saturday. The occasion was the
Mac College homecoming.

At least 30 old boys showed up, plus a few more who
played for Mac. It was a great
day with lots of really hard Rugby and more importantly, some really good
looking girls.

There was much talk about getting the Old Boys Rugby squad out on a more
regular
basis, but certainly it would be wonderful to see more of them at Club games
and at the banquet. This is unlikely though, because as good Rugby players
as they are, the old boys seem to have an allergy to spending money. It was
difficult to get 20 dollars from them to buy a Rugby sweater.

Still this miserliness did not attract from the great
day and the terrific after-game beer -up and food at Cunningham's Pub. Tom
Ladd entertained all of us with a few songs and we hope he will return to
Montreal to lead the club in a much needed choir practice.
