STE-ANNE'S PREMIER WOMEN'S TEAM OFF TO STELLAR START

With both teams earning victories this weekend, the
Ste-Anne's women are off to a stellar start to the season. TMR may well have
been without three of their star players, but the Ste-Anne's victory was
comprehensive. In the premier game, Ste-Anne's elected to kick off,
playing from the Eastern end of ESG field. Strong pressure caused an error, and
from the ensuing scrum Ste-Anne's moved the ball wide right. Jesse Matiaszuk
came into the line from full-back.

Clubs Build on Strong Ties
On 3rd May weekend, at Loyola Campus of Concordia University, Ste-Anne's
fielded an Under 21 team (with much help from Nick C and the Caribou), plus a
Senior Men's and Senior Women's side to play against their counterparts from
Brampton Ontario. The matches were part of a tour by the Beavers to Montreal,

This weekend I decided to make my way to
the northern part of England to visit my boyfriend. No it wasn't Matty or
Phelan!! He's far smoother, and you might have seen him in such events as:
The 6 Nations, the Lions tour to New Zealand, or during the dying seconds of
the 2003 World Cup! You may even remember seeing him on the Ste-Anne's website
with our very own Sommer. Yes. His name is Johnny Wilkinson!! So, I hopped

KIMM CARRIERE STARS AS BHS PLAYS vs

Lee Bieber reports that
Ste-Anne's rookie player Kimm Carriere played her first High School game of
Rugby today, and had a starring role while scoring two good tries.
Anyone who was with Kimm
at Tuesday's practice will know that her speed, awareness of space and physical
aggression is going to make her a future star of the Game at more senior levels.

RHIAN WILKINSON IS OFF TO THE OLYMPICS

Ste-Anne's Club member Rhian
Wilkinson is off to the Beijing Olympics following a 1-0 victory in Juarez over
Mexico in the CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament last Wednesday. In the Finals of
the Qualifying Tournament on Saturday, the Canadians tied the USA 1-1, but then
lost on penalty kicks 5-6. Canada has
already guaranteed their place in the Olympics: The first Canadian Women's soccer team to ever
qualify, and the first since the Men's team qualified 24 years ago. |
