WEEKEND: Abbott Men Repeat; Women Close & 2009 Wines Unveiled

Last Sunday was a pretty good day in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue. There were two
Rugby Finals for the local CEGEP, being played down at Concordia. There was
an added bonus in that Old Stone's nephew was the Dawson scrum-half. The
John Abbott men won their game and the women lost narrowly. The CEGEP
Women hung in tight, and late in the game they were only 5-3 down and they
were pressing with a penalty deep in the Dawson zone. However, the blue

Canada's National Women's Team plays
France in Dijon on Wednesday, November 18, and again in Paris at Stade de
France on Saturday, November 21. Both matches will be played as the curtain
raisers before the French Men's Team play Samoa. However, for the women this
is the opportunity to play in front of large crowds and to defeat
France who are ranked ahead of them. With the Women's Rugby World Cup
looming in 2010, the Canadian women have been working hard on strength and
conditioning as well

Women take Fall Series centre Stage
6th November 2009
The MCGill Rugby Women played John Abbott's Women's team on a
cool last Wednesday evening. It was terrific Fall series Rugby. Abbott
featured Ste-Anne's star player and Swedish bombshell Tanja Andersson, and
she should benefit immensely from the strong opposition John Abbott faced.
On the McGill side Mongeau and Trisch Walsh were in evidence. A good sized
crowd bundled up to watch the game, and in the "We knew we had it in them
department," Taryn and Katie Gauley showed off their table top
